Herberton Range National Park The unmarked fire trails in the north-west section of Herberton Range National Park (PDF, 122K) can be accessed from the Atherton Herberton Road or Wongabel Road. The trails are very steep and rocky and should only be accessed by experienced drivers in suitable off-road vehicles.

John Markwell (07/09/2016 08:09) The Crater is something special, and easy to access, via a short, almost flat walk. For a little more exercise there is an alternate path. The foliage is lush and interesting, and the crater itself is genuinely awesome. Recommended as a must see if visiting the area. Don't be put off by light rain.
QPWS has now installed 103 cassowary feeding stations since Yasi devastated the landscape in early February. Volunteers are still needed to help prepare cassowary food.
