  Had the pleasure of visiting Better Brewer the other week. Andrew and Linda were extremely helpful in setting me up for home brewing. Very knowledgeable and I really appreciated the time the took to give me a hand as a brewing newbie! Would recommend to anyone considering getting into home brew

  I believe that if the owners here want to thrive in retail, they could probably take on some common themes from these posts. I have dealt with them many times in the past and, yes, they can be very testy and stoic which may come across as condescending and arrogant. I also think that when they finally stop with the 'walls' and become more friendly, they are entirely different to deal with and the shopping experience is great. It is all about relationships and these guys can build very good ones or choose to give you nothing dependent on a few factors. They probably answer the same questions over and again etc etc - I get it. However, understanding your customers' needs and connecting with the experience they are seeking is as important, if not more important, then price and products. The bloke they bought the shop from could be a beast and perhaps some of those traits came with the shop and seep through occasionally. This shop could be unreal, but it requires a greater level of consistent connection and support on a personal level to reach that. Beer making is a fun hobby and experience - so should the preparation (shopping) for making it be.

  A little disappointed........have been In here often to purchase flavourings and finally purchased a $600 product as a gift for my husband which he was very excited about when he received it. The lady wasn't really "happy" or welcoming which I thought was strange since buying such an expensive product which we would need to come back and purchase more from them for each time we wanted to make a new batch. I thought I might have just got her on a bad day. After using the product and getting up to a filtering stage we found we hadn't received the filter for my item......unsure about this I called the shop which I was told I should have gotten it and was asked who served me which I thought was the lady I was speaking too, which was then told oh I would have given it to you. we were told we could come down and pick one up which she didn't seem happy about. (Sorry I just assumed when I purchased the kit I would receive everything needed, I had no idea what it entailed to check myself) when my husband arrived he walked in and was told "it's just there" quite rudely, no apology or anything especially since we live 40 minutes away. Not happy with the customer service and will look elsewhere when we need to buy ingredients etc again.
  
  Update - thank you for your quick response, it was much appreciated, in fact we have been back in store since and had a better experience so thank you so I increased my review to 3 stars, hoping to make it more soon.

  They have everything I need fairly priced which is great! Service is fine, professional and helpful enough with out being all fake friendly.
