The Beach, near Oberon, is a secluded place to camp by the Abercrombie River. Accessible only by 4WD, it's perfect for touring, swimming and relaxing.
Today, the area is popular with good camping locations found at 4 sites within the Abercrombie River National Park, namely Bummaroo Ford (2WD and caravan accessible), Silent Creek (4WD), The Beach (4WD) and The Sink (4WD). There are also good 4WD fire trails leading to sites such as Licking Hole, and an abandoned goldminer's cottage.
