In addition, there may be that other restrictions, approvals and/or permits may apply when the Bush Fire Danger Period has not been declared.
Landholders are reminder that while you do not yet require a permit to burn off on your property, you still must provide 24 hours notice of your intention to burn to the NSW RFS - Cudgegong District Fire Control Centre (02 6372 4434 - business hours) and your neighbours.

The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) is the lead combat agency for bush fires in NSW. For over 100 years we have been a significant part of the history and landscape of NSW. Working closely with other agencies we respond to a range of emergencies including structure fires, motor vehicle accidents and storms that occur within rural fire districts.
On days of Total Fire Ban all fire permits are automatically revoked. To check the Fire Danger Ratings for your area visit www.rfs.nsw.gov.au or contact the Cudgegong District Fire Control Centre in Mudgee on (02) 6372 4434. Fire Permits are required during the Bush Fire Danger Period for most fires that are lit outdoors.
