Mrs. Macquarie's chair is really the nickname of the peninsula - Mrs Macquarie's Point. Located on the right hand side of the Point, Mrs Macquarie's chair was hand carved into the exposed sandstone rock: forming a bench by convicts in 1810 for Governor Macquarie's wife Elizabeth.
