River Road Closure, Wellington National Park 20 December 2017. The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions wishes to advise that River Road (north) from Wellington Dam Road to Honeymoon Pool will be closed due to major upgrade works. Closure will be from Tuesday 2 January through to end of March 2018.

The Wellington Forest Discovery Centre is set amongst 1000 hectares of some the most splendid examples of jarrah, marri and yarri forests in the Wellington National Park. The centre incorporates self-guided walk trails through the forest, accompanied by information to give an insight into jarrah forest ecology and past management of the forest.

The lookout is a short stroll from the Wellington Dam Kiosk, where there is ample parking. The Wellington Dam Precinct lies at the end of Wellington Dam Road approximately 15km from the Coalfields Highway. The Wellington Dam Road, itself is a pleasant drive through mixed rural and natural forest landscapes.
