Born in Netherlands, Christina Burki is now an internationally recognized Gestalt psychotherapist. She moved to Switzerland and got her Bachelor Degree of Education there. Her tenure as a Pre-Primary teacher lasted 10 years after which she spent 3 years as Vice President of her school’s commission. By now, Christina was a mother of 2 when she endeavored in to the world of psychotherapy.
She is now a highly qualified and fully licensed Gestalt psychotherapist who has successfully treated hundreds of people. She currently works in Perth, Australia where she has been providing her counseling/therapy services since 2008. She is registered as a clinical member of the Psychotherapy and Counseling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and of Gestalt Australia and New Zealand (GANZ). Throughout her career, she has helped many people get back on track and find inspiration in life. She wants her clients to find connection within themselves. Ever since she was very young, she has had the yearning to help others. She sees herself as a guide, helping her clients on their healing journey. The goal of her work is that her clients know who they are, what they want and that they can thrive.
She uses an integrative approach to work with her clients. Putting herself at the same level as the clients enables her to build a trusting relationship with them. By utilizing this highly positive one-on-one approach, she finds ways to heal them and put them back on track.
The ways she works with people is creative and unifying. She offers her clients to draw or work with clay. She helps them with meditations and offers family constellations using wooden art dolls. Sometimes her dogs and cats are with the client in the session. With the comfort of the animals in full consideration, they are integrated in to the sessions to provide a soothing and relaxing atmosphere to the people being treated.
As part of her humanitarian efforts, Christina has contributed to an orphanage in Bali, Indonesia where she provided her psychotherapy services and counseling to all, including the orphanage owner, completely for free. She now sponsors the education of three girls from the same institute.
Christina plans to give group therapy sessions. She devotes her passion and energy to see more and more people connected with their Core Self and thriving.
