The Redwood Forest is a hidden, unexpected gem in the Yarra Valley. The Californian Redwood trees were planted in the 1930s as an experiment by the Board of Works after the clearing of the original eucalyptus forest. The East Warburton Redwood Forest is now Heritage Listed. There are around 1467 huge neatly planted trees reaching up to 55m high.

Redwood Forest - Cement Creek Discover the magic of the Redwoods at Warburton Probably one of the best kept secrets in the hills is the forest of Californian Redwoods, Sequoia sempervirens, a few kilometres outside Warburton.
Over 300 years old, the Ada Tree is considered to be one of the largest known flowering trees in the world. The tree is one of the biggest living things in the world at about 76 metres high and 15.7 metres girth at shoulder height.
Up until two years ago, the Redwood Forest was a little-known stand of Californian Redwoods that was considered a secret and meditative destination among locals. As a National Trust heritage listed site, stepping into the forest was done with a sense of awe and respect - its silence and simple beauty the essence of its appeal.
