Interesting history and great air show. The planes inside were pretty cool too
good place for family.outimg as there is allocated cottage with table and bench for resting and eating
Surprisingly interesting place, the museum presents an historical overview of Australia's military aviation history through a combination of itemised and photographic exhibits and full sized original and restored aircraft. Fairly extensive exhibition space spread over a number of building, great for kids to explore, a gift shop and friendly staff. Not a lot of people seem to visit so it's a quiet environment to explore; you will need to sign in at the front gate via security.
I think there's an opportunity to have more aircraft on display and allow visitors to get up close which unfortunately at this point is not allowed otherwise a great little place to visit if your passing through Point Cook.
Worth attending the flying demo. The museum has lots of info. Be sure to check out the additional displays in the other hangers. The F4 Phantom, F1-11 and other WW1&2 aircraft are impressive. Staff are a mix of RAAF and volunteers-all excellent. Note that the cafe is colsed on Sundays.
The visit was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcome. The history of the RAAF is well represented and it was a great honour to have been able to see the history of Australia's Air Force displayed in such a nice way. This is a family outing worth taking and hopefully it will be there to enjoy for our future generations to come!
