I happened to visit this hospital few times because of my family. everytime uts very clean and tidy. staff here is very friendly and welcoming. they do not give you hard time instead try to help you in every possible way.
visited pediatric department it was nice and doctors are good.
visited maternity baby care department. it was quite nice and clean and staff here was very friendly
the only thing is paid parking. I think 1st hour should be free and must be charged starting from 2nd hour.
Stayed there for 3 nights after surgery. Surgeon was great. The nurses and other staff were also very caring and attentive. The only complaints I have are to do with the lack of anything to do during my stay.
First of all, most of my time was spent in bed on a CPM exercise machine. So basically 12 hours doing nothing but managing my pain and watching the tv above my bed. Unfortunately it could only get half a dozen channels of local tv (7 9 10 etc) I would have thought a private hospital would have provided something better. Even for an additional fee I would have been happy to pay for foxtel or Netflix etc. Which brings me to my second issue.
I'd just come from a stay at The Avenue and St John of God hospitals. Both of those only have terrestrial tv. At both places I used my phone to stream Netflix etc and naturally thought I'd do the same here. No chance. The phone reception at Northpark Hospital is at best atrocious. I tried making a number of calls and every one of them was disconnected or failed to connect. No phone calls. No browsing. No emails and certainly no streaming. They need to install some signal booster or other hardware to help rectify this. They won't though. It's all about the money and they won't spend any unless they absolutely have to.
One final issue. The air conditioning. I shared a room with one other gentleman and there were a couple of very hot days. The room was hot and stuffy. I asked for the a/c to be turned on and, because the split system unit was above the other patients head, they had to get his approval before turning it on. Even then it made no difference to my side of the room because his dividing curtains were drawn. He soon got too cold and asked for it to be turned off. I had to ask for a cold pack to help cool me down. A very poor state of affairs to be honest. And not something I would expect to see in a private hospital.
Oh, and the food is pretty average. Especially compared with the other two venues. If I could describe this hospital in one word, I'd say Cheap. And I don't mean in a cost sense.
Had a poor experience with reception that was likely due to misunderstandings which I can forgive, but I wish the waiting area would have more comfortable seats or supply pillows. I was seated next to an elderly woman in the waiting room and she claimed she had an unpleasant experience with the hospital before and that the hospital had heard her claims. Unfortunately, she had yet another poor experience there. She was waiting for over an hour and a half seated in an uncomfortable chair. I asked for a pillow for her at the reception but they said they had none. I understand that the long waiting periods of hospitals cannot be changed, but considering the purpose of hospitals is to alleviate the pain of patients, shouldn't they consider more comfortable seating in their waiting rooms so as to not cause further pain to their patients? A large proportion of patients occupying the waiting room were elderly people, likely with back issues and experiencing soreness, yet the hospital has failed to cater to their needs. I understand that it is difficult to fully ensure the patients experience is a pleasurable one, but it just hurt me to see that elderly woman being failed by the hospital once more, and I know that the solution this issue is relatively simple. Please supply pillows, or consider placing a few comfortable chairs in the waiting rooms for those with back issues and/or other complications that require more comfortable seating.
I had a fantastic experience at Northpark for plastic surgery with Dean Trotter.
The nurses were so confident and friendly. they treated me like family. Thank you, Merv, Stef, Anica and Donna. If it weren't for you, I would have stayed an emotional mess after waking. Would go back in a heartbeat
