Operation Cleft. Operation Cleft Australia, together with its partner Deutsch Cleft Kinderhilfe, improves the lives of underprivileged children in Bangladesh by providing free cleft lip and palate surgery. Initiated by the Rotary Club of Box Hill Central in Victoria, the program has provided free surgery for more than 15,000 children since 2005.
In 2004, the Rotary Club of Box Hill Central collaborated with the Glencoe Foundation to use Bangladesh Plastic Surgeons to provide cleft lip and palate treatment. The program grew rapidly and by 2018 over 11 000 lives have been changed. Rotary clubs throughout Australia continue to support Operation Cleft. Before Treatment.
