Wilsons Promontory Marine National Park The Prom's underwater wonders Wilsons Promontory Marine National Park is the largest marine national park in Victoria, covering almost 16,000 hectares. It is a rare global example of adjoining marine and land parks with protected landscapes from the top of the mountains to the bottom of the sea.
Wilsons Promontory (or the Prom as it is widely known) dips south into the often-turbulent seas of Bass Strait, a wild and beautiful landscape of majestic granite boulders, of forests and heathlands, sandy coves and wonderful beaches.

Nearby picnic areas are equipped with free gas barbecues. A dump point is available at the Overnight Hikers car park. Generators and fires, including solid fuel heating compounds, are not permitted in Wilsons Promontory National Park, including Tidal River campground.p Pre-booking of powered campsites is advisable all year round.
