The Briars has a range of wonderful walks and National Trust Properties plus a quaint cafe and fine dining restaurant. On the 4km walk loop walk you can see lots of beautiful Australian wildlife including emus, wallabies, koalas and native birds. I highly recommend a visit. It is free to visit.

The Briars, Melbourne - Situated off Nepean Highway in Mount Martha, The Briars is a historic homestead, built around the 1800's, and situated on around 230 hectares of working farmland.....
The Briars homestead was completed in 1851 and occupied by Alexander Balcombe. After failing to find his fortune at the goldfields Balcombe farmed the land and tended 40 hectares of vineyards - experimenting unsuccessfully in wine production.
The Briars Park (Mount Martha) The Briars Park is one of the Mornington Peninsula's oldest properties. The park, a wonderful example of cultural landscape, contains an 1840's Homestead which houses a Napoleonic Collection and various out buildings that were required in early pioneer times.
The Briars Park is the Mornington Peninsula Shire's foremost property, and a beautiful example of 'Cultural Landscape', with a long history of Aboriginal occupation, followed by European occupation of one of the first pastoral 'runs' on the Mornington Peninsula, represented today by a complex of heritage listed farm buildings and gardens.
