Compiled by John Howie, a caretaker at GilChrist. Often the first few days of a retreat are taken up with rest. We usually come into retreat very tired and so much sleep is what is called for. People often come into retreat with lofty goals in mind, like meditating for eight hours a day, exercising for two hour a day, writing a thesis, and so on.
This is the sweet spot, our rest retreats. We take Lady Leaders away from their normal routine to experience a weekend of rest, refreshment, and play. Busyness has become an epidemic and it drifts us away from our priorities. When you attend a rest retreat our goal is help you realign those priorities and bring healing to the areas that busyness has allowed you to ignore in a safe space.
Racheal's Rest, is a 5 day restorative retreat program that is designed to address the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of survivors. We exist to help women and children who experienced sexual abuse or acts of violence regain their balance in life. In these workshops/retreats you will receive tools for change.
