If you have time to explore Glenlyon , look for the interesting walking trail (Glenlyon Biolink Walk) by the tiny Loddon River. Though the trail may be indistinct in parts due to fallen debris and overgrowth, the path is marked with signs showing historical activity at numerous points. The trail leads from the Recreational Reserve towards the high road bridge on the Malmsbury Road C316, just down hill from the General Store. However, there is currently no direct exit up and onto the bridge from below. You will need to retrace your steps to a point where the track turns left up hill, where it (as Loddon Drive) joins the Malmsbury Road about 100 meters on the far side of the bridge. Walk down to the bridge taking in the information board and continue up the hill to the General Store.
Good walk along the Loddon to the reserve in the valley. Chance to see some kangaroos.
