Aire River West camping ground has a number of large grassy areas which would suit large groups as well as small. If the river is high it can be a little damp underfoot or indeed closed. It has a drop toilet and an information board.

We camp at Aire River West campground which is one of the most beautiful spots in Victoria and allows fires as well! Great ocean walk itinerary. Day 1 - Blanket Bay to Aire River - 19.5km's. - Departing Melbourne at 8:30am on Saturday we arrive at Blanket Bay at midday.
The Aire River West Campground has good grassy areas each side of the river with a bridge connection and a boat launch ramp. It also has a sand track to beach. On the eastern side, koala's may be seen in the trees. Camping, fishing, fossicking, bushwalking, caravan parks, boat ramps.
From here to the Aire River Campground it's about a 21km trek along the coast and then inland to the river. The first section of the hike is a gradual incline through a dense forest gum on a formed trail. However, after a while, the path begins to flatten out whilst offering spectacular views of the ocean.
