I just stayed here over the Easter weekend with kids and family. We all thought this was a great place to camp and are already making plans to come back again. There are plenty of unpowered ONLY spots to set up camp, suitable for anything from tents to caravans. There are lots of fire pits to use and 2 small toilets blocks, including a reasonably new one with 3 hot showers. There is a free BBQ and cold taps with town water (safe to use). Rates are $15 a night, collected by the ranger. Sometimes the lake has blue green algae, so check for signs around the lake to see if the water is safe to enter.
The only negative we found was the old toilet block was dirty, with only 1 clean toilet, (that you needed to be able to use if the showers were in use in the other toilet block.)
Hot showers. Clean toilets. Town water. Loads of room and beautiful scenery. We'll be back for sure.
I feel the bug problem is a no go for returning campers but knowing how to deal with this problem do not have any lights on at night as they are very attracted to this havnt tried yello lights as this does repell some insect but apart from the bugs the foreshore is looking good as we have seen the old foreshore and growing up in the area as a kid this is a positive old toilets need a wash out and are still used but need a clean as a backup for campers good to see it progressing to be an exellent campsite
One of the best low cost camps in Australia with water, showers & Spotless new Toilet block. Great for any water sport and fishing. Bins and fire places provided. With Ranger doing daily rounds. Highly recommended :)
