Well worth the drive to Mt Field National Park to see Russell Falls, there's just a small vehicle charge to enter the national park and it's is a very easy walk to the Russell Falls, a really pretty location.

Mount Field National Park is located 64 km northwest of Hobart. The landscape ranges from eucalyptus temperate rainforest to alpine moorland, rising to 1,434 metres (4,705 ft) at the summit of Mount Field West. Mount Field National Park was founded in 1916, making it, along with Freycinet National Park, Tasmania's oldest national park.
The second is centred at Lake Dobson and includes the long day walks and skiing areas. The two areas are linked by a 16 kilometre unsealed road. Mount Field National Park is 60 kilometres (37 miles), or about an hour's drive, North-west of Hobart. From Hobart, take the Broker Highway (A10) to New Norfolk, and then follow the road on either side of the Derwent River (the A10 or B62) until you reach Westerway.
