Redeveloped Penguin viewing platform The redevelopment of a popular penguin viewing platform has been completed, providing a quality tourism attraction in the North-West. The $245,000 project was funded by Tourism Infrastructure in Parks program and is located at the Lillico Beach Conservation Area west of Devonport.
This work was done as part of the Parks and Wildlife Service's WildSC'OOL initiative. The $300,000 penguin viewing platform project was funded by the Tourism Infrastructure in Parks Future-Proofing our Icons initiative and is part of a raft of improvements at the site. Construction of the platform was undertaken by local company, AJR Construct.

Lillico Beach is a coastal reserve and penguin colony near Devonport in north-west Tasmania. Just ten minutes west of Devonport, this narrow coastal strip is home to a colony of Little Penguins, also known as Fairy Penguins. At around 30 centimetres high and weighing in at just one kilo, the Little Penguin is the world's smallest penguin.
