Ryder-Cheshire Australia (RCA) is at a crucial and exciting stage in its evolution. We are making some changes to continue our work for the relief of suffering without discrimination,into the future.We aim to bring more people into the Ryder-Cheshire Australia family through direct membership of our peak organisation and provide practical ways to be engaged.
Restoring dignity. We at Ryder-Cheshire New Zealand believe that relieving suffering by offering rehabilitation services and support is the best investment we can make to build the self-esteem and dignity of those most vulnerable. There is a global surge in tuberculosis, rising mental illness and an increasing number of people seeking support.
What we've achieved so far. Two homes have been built: Ryder and Cheshire. Each accommodates five residents. The Mount Gambier homes' names honour the co-founders of the Ryder-Cheshire Foundation. Our homes are leased to ParaQuadSA and managed by their service provider HomeCare+. Discussions have commenced for a possible third complex.
Ryder-Cheshire Foundation Waikato owns seven wheel-chair friendly, accessible homes, purpose-built for the needs of people living with disabilities. Two of our homes are leased to NZ Care who run 24/7 care facilities and the others are managed as independent flatting households. Individual rooms can be rented within the 2 - 5 bedroom homes.
