Melbourne-based visual artist Caroline Walls, best known for her contemporary minimalist paintings, is showcasing her new series of evocative works at Saint Cloche gallery, Paddington. After spending years living abroad working in creative agencies in London and New York, Caroline Walls now lives and works in Melbourne focused on her art practice.

Saint Cloche is a contemporary gallery and concept space in Sydney's Paddington with a mission to support the work of established artists, whilst also providing a platform for fresh talent to present their ideas to the world.
So that was my afternoon activity yesterday. Unlike the last time I was there, Saint Cloche was packed. There was a huge amount of people, spilling out onto the footpath and sitting on the raised edge of the gallery outside. There was music, cupcakes under bell jars and champagne, which gave the event a welcoming and alternative feel.

Nicolette Johnson is a ceramic artist whose work explores symmetry, botanical motifs, and the importance of the artefact. Nicolette was born in London, England in 1990 and today is based in Brisbane, Australia.
"I first visited Central Australia as a child in the 1970s. The photos from those days were small format, square with rounded corners. They are a little faded and washed out - which in some ways reflects the intensity of the searing sunlight in the desert.
