The Penrith Museum of Printing is a unique 'working museum' established in Penrith NSW in 2001. The museum is managed and staffed by volunteers who are primarily printing tradesmen. The aim of the museum is to collect, conserve and showcase letterpress printing machinery and equipment from around the world so as to keep alive the

The Museum of Printing encourages tour groups and is open from 10am-2pm on Saturdays (except long weekends) - check the website for details or call 0415 625 573. However, as one of the knowledgeable volunteers quipped, they, like the printing presses, just keep getting older, so don't delay!

They are the driving force behind the Penrith Museum of Printing, which has a wonderful collection of print machines dating back to the mid-19th century, many still in operation. The museum also has a fully equipped composing room complete with make-up stone, a typesetting machine and lots more printing and book-binding paraphernalia.
