An urgent call is issued to local people to knit and crochet red poppies for Anzac Day on 25 April for display in the Lithgow Library and Lithgow Gallery Lane.
The Society is looking for further items for the display and can be contacted at it's Resource Centre on the Cnr of Tank & Donald Streets, Lithgow on Tuesdays from 6 - 9 p.m. or on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by phoning 02 6353 1089 during these hours. Photo Supplied by Jan Saundercock
A group from the Lithgow & District Family History Society Inc travelled to Sydmouth Valley on Saturday 12th October to visit the historic homestead that has stood on the property since 1826. One of oldest brick homes west of the Blue Mountains, it lies on the original road to Bathurst built by William Cox in 1915.
Following the 2014 publication of the book "A Long March from Lithgow" to honour the men and women from Lithgow & District who served in the First World War, the Lithgow & District Family History Society Inc is confident that many researchers and writers will take up this new challenge.
