This is an outstanding Chinese bakery and the hidden gem of Ashfield. It's by far the best Chinese bakery in the inner west, with delicious classics, like pineapple buns, red bean filled sesame buns, and then bonuses of delectable dim sums. The items are made to a high standard, and are larger than items at other bakeries. The staff have told me it's a family run business and you can see them hard at work, preparing different trays of goods. Love this place!
The first time I came here I had admittedly low expectations because the shop looks very basic and unassuming. Don't let that fool you though, because the pastries are absolutely delicious! Very good pricing as well, but beware it's cash only!
One of the better bakeries around the area (and I've tried quite a few). The sesame balls filled with red bean are fantastic.
The shop is rather unusual because they sell a very limited selection of bakery snacks, cakes and dim sum. Come here to get a few yum cha dim sum snacks without paying the exorbitant prices that typical yum cha restaurants charge nowadays (note: once they are sold, they aren't restocked for the rest of the day).
You can see them make their own dim sums at the back of the shop.
Love love love this bakery. The food is delicious and they have a wide range of Chinese pastries, lots of which you'd find in a yum cha setting. Get the mango pancakes, mango pudding and Pork floss roll. They also sell frozen pork buns for you to steam at home.
