917 Posts. #3 · Nov 7, 2011. You have good voltage and the clicking means the relay is likely working as well. The clicking also means there is power to the relay. I suspect a bad connection from the relay to the starter, or from the starter to ground via the engine ground strap. More often than not there is a dirty/corroded connection somewhere.

1,455 Posts. #12 · Feb 9, 2016. The right way to verify what the problem is is to have someone check voltage with a meter while you try to crank it. First choice is a bad battery, 2nd choice is a loose ground or starter wire, distant 3rd would be the starter or solenoid. JMHO.
