Awesome place to visit. Go to go on train ride and the cenery through the bush is amazing.nice little kiosk for hot and cold food and snacks. Overall loved our visit, place could do with some signs for directions to certain plces around the museum, aswell as more plaques on displays and items.
Beautiful old buildings, especially the administration building - now the museum. Other buildings are showing their age but very photogenic. The work on the restoration of rolling stock and battling the ravages of bush fires. Once one of the best mines in the world with tiled area arounf the bottom of the shaft where miners got out of the cage. Free train rides with admission, one day we might see a famous 10 class steaming again.
Went last weekend for a MTB event with the family. Really impressed with the setup and steam train ride
A wonderful museum, struggling to recover from last years terrible fire. They are working wonders to get steam working again on the short line. Also moving along the Pelaw Main line with help from local businesses and volunteers. A credit to the dogged determination of the coalfields people. Visit them and make a donation to their appleal, also have a great fund raising raffle going at present, wonderful prizes.
TIMETABLE. Trains run from 10:00am as required throughout the day. With a lunch break for the crew around noon. Trains run no later than 3:00pm
