Great indigenous gallery, interesting stuff for kids and the diversity of all that is Australia. Has great blockbuster shows often in conjunction with the British Museum. History of the World in One Hundred Objects was remarkable - check out the fascinating podcasts. Romans was good too.
I suggest visitors take a torch as some exhibits are poorly lit. Many of the information boards are way too low to read, requiring the visitor to bow or kneel so as the information is anything close to eye level. Too many exhibits belong in an art gallery and not a museum. More emphasis needs to place on the financial benefits many of the exhibits made and continue to make for Australia. Overall a pleasing visit.
Such a great experience.... a highly recommend place and a must see venue
The place is very well organized and maintained.
It is free for General admission but you have to pay for some special events and exhibitions
Its a great place for the whole family, a special place from little kids to do some activities (dress up, coloring and playing with blocks)
I highly recommend this place and hope that you will enjoy it as well
Lots to see and learn. I didn't attend any of the paid exhibitions but most of the museum is free to visit. Friendly staff - can easily spend 2 hours or more here - just depends on how much detail you want to consume
Interesting display of Australian history. The architecture of the building is spectacular. The entrance is currently being upgraded when we were there. Great cafe with nice views of the lake. Found the Bush Mechanics interesting. Well worth a visit.
